by SunShade Products – A Brief History

In the late 1970’s as a family business involved with awnings, canopies, and patio covers, we recognized the need for screen enclosures to provide people with an insect free environment.  As manufacturing techniques were further developed and refined we incorporated a combination of glass and screen to lengthen our summers while still maintaining the “feeling” of being outdoors.

Utilizing computer assisted design (CAD), prototypes were developed and tested that met or exceeded building codes and regulations.  Working with various independent engineering firms, the Glastar Enclosure became the first “floatation system” to be certified by city engineers for installation on a non-piled surface.

Our company is involved in the entire process of designing, manufacturing, installation, and after sale service for all of our Glastar Sunroom systems.  This approach enables us to make research and development changes quickly and efficiently.

The enclosure industry has rapidly grown, and we have seen many companies come and go.  As a family business with over 33 years of proven performance and more than 1700 hundred Glastar Sunroom installations — we pride ourselves in the knowledge that we take care of and satisfy every customer that we deal with. Through our ongoing research in design, manufacturing, and installation techniques, we continue to provide families and homeowners with unique, high quality Glastar Sunroom systems.

We make the process of planning and choosing a Glastar Sunroom system for your home easy and straightforward.  We feel that by providing you with access to all the information available, you can make an informed decision. 

You may start with a tour of our factory location where you will be able to see what goes into the product and how it is actually made.  An in-home consultation with one of our designers will provide you with different designs and detailed estimates for your home.  Now, you are able to go out and see as many  Glastar Sunroom systems in your area as you like.  Seeing actual  Sunrooms in the field you will be assured of the quality, durability, and workmanship in each and every Glastar Sunroom system as well as our unequalled commitment to after sale service.
