GETTING
PRICING

One
of the first questions people interested in a sunroom ask is - how
much?
I tell people, it's unwise to pay too much but it's WORSE to pay
too little! When you pay too much, you lose a little money ...
that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose
everything, because the item you bought was incapable of doing the
function it was bought to do (and the company does not have enough
profit in the job to rectify the problem).
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and
getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest
bidder, it is well advised to add a dollar figure for the risk you
run, If you do that, you would have had enough to pay for a better
product in the first place.
People will also make decisions out of haste because if they sign
the order TODAY the salesperson will discount the price. I can
understand a fifty or seventy‑five dollar savings, but if it
is hundreds or even thousands, that salesperson is playing with
your emotions. I have also seen companies greatly reduce prices
when they find out you are shopping around. Even with a reduced
price, I would think twice about dealing with someone who was
going to overcharge you in the first place.
The whole point is this - shop around, see jobs, speak to
customers who have dealt with that company (reputable companies
will be happy to supply this information) and take your time
making YOUR decision. Also, be prepared to have that salesperson
out to your home, If someone gives you an "accurate"
square footage price over the phone, they are basing it on
averages, which means you could be paying for someone else's room.
