With the United States implementing tariffs and the rising cost of just about everything, people have been inquiring about the impact on our business. Luckily, we only order one component from the States and that inventory will last several years, so there have been no impact from tariffs, yet.
All our aluminum extrusions are components we designed and developed over 40 plus years of growth and are supplied, or produced, by Canadian companies. Our producers have thousands of Canadian manufacturers just like us, so they can forecast and negotiate their raw good prices months and/or years in advance.
We ordered a lot of inventory last Fall for Spring delivery and depending on the shape, it can last us from a few months to a few years. In our manufacturing, we also developed a process where we can offer a custom built product, but still utilize some standard sizing. This has allowed us to negotiate some bulk pricing for a lot of our glass and other components.
What this means is, unlike a lot of products, instead of increasing our prices, we have actually been able to offer a price reduction this year. Due to supply and demand, we don’t know how long this can last, so if you have had a sunroom quote in the last couple years or are considering one, now might be the time!
